Today we feature this lovely warm and beautiful boho wedding captured by Olivia Whitbread-Roberts.
Kayleigh and Joe were married outside on the Cornish Camel farm, surrounded by friends and family. The weather was spectacularly good! After the ceremony, guests gathered on the lawns for Pimm’s and nibbles, and relaxed for photographs of everyone mingling. We were joined by six adorable farm puppies, which really excited everyone—they were only about five days old!
I took Kayleigh and Joe around the gardens for some candid shots of them together. The farm itself is home to many animals, including camels (as you might have guessed!). The guests fed the camels and posed for photos, which brought endless fun.
I would describe my work as a blend of reportage and informal styles. Occasionally, if I can envision a shot that I think they’ll love, I might pose the couple. However, I always aim to make them feel at ease so that the image remains as natural and uncontrived as possible. It’s all about being creative with both the couple and their surroundings.
The editing is where I really have fun. I’m a huge fan of colour and light, and I like to make my images pop. A shallow depth of field is also integral to my style. I believe it’s important for the image to show the viewer what I want them to see, without alienating other elements of the shot. Creating a subtle blur around the main subject is a great way to achieve this.
I loved everything about the wedding day; the bride and groom were fantastic—so friendly and laid-back. It felt as though I was at a friend’s wedding. The many quirks of the day helped create a fun set of images.
