Helen’s Dress

Photo by Mick Cookson Photography – This photo was taken at 30 James Street Hotel in Liverpool. Helen’s dress was hanging in a room of its own. To avoid the obvious, I made the dress small in the frame by using a wide-angle lens, incorporating a door and some light spill in the foreground.

The Last of the Light

Photo by Aaron Storry Photography – It was golden hour during Lara and James’ wedding at the stunning Fawsley Hall in Northants when I invited the lovely couple outside to take advantage of the incredible rays. As Lara danced in the warm evening glow, I captured this frame—a perfect moment in time.

Wedding Dress Photography

White wedding

Photo by alexa poppe wedding photography – It snowed so heavily at Jenny and Kelvin’s wedding that I got snowed in and had to stay the night. It was chaotic at first, but I loved the photos from that day and will always remember them. Within hours, the venue transformed into a winter wonderland—a rare sight in Cornwall—complete with a wedding dress hung up in the snow.

It Takes Two

Wedding Dress Photography

Dana & Coady

Photo by Jasmin & Matt Photography / Jasmin Pichlyk – A mostly deserted all-inclusive resort with a stunning view of the grounds provided a picturesque backdrop for Dana’s boho-chic wedding dress. This photo was taken at Riu Palace Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Wedding Dress Photography

The dress in the castle

Photo by Nabis Photographer/ Chiara Ridolfi – I was capturing the bride getting ready in the beautiful Castle of Bracciano. Flavia, the bride, was assisted by her five bridesmaids as they helped her with the dress.
When I saw them all busy with her dress, I took the shot. I really loved her wedding dress; it was very elegant with a long train.

Wedding Dress Photography

The Hanging Dress

Photo by Benjamin Stuart Photography – Hanging up a wedding dress can be quite cliché. But when the dress is by Jenny Packham and the venue looks like this, I just had to do it!

Wedding Dress Photography

The dress in rural climate

Photo by Alvaro Sancha – This photograph was taken at a beautiful rural wedding in Tournay, France, just before I dressed Anaïs, the bride. I am in love with rural weddings.

Ready for his big moment

Photo by Modern Vintage Weddings – Little Brooksy, Kate the bride’s dog, sneaked onto her dress while she wasn’t looking, and I captured this sweet moment. When I mentioned where he was, Kate simply said, “It’s fine, he’s had a bath today.”

The lady and the bridal dress

Photo by Vonlè Art – The bridal dress of a beautiful young lady whose wedding took place at Sozopol Beach on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria.

The finishing touches

Photo by Simon Biffen Photography – In this candid moment, Emma’s sister is fastening the final buttons of the dress, with everyone else having left the room to give Emma some quiet time before she saw her father. The beautiful soft light coming in from the window highlighted the intricate details on the dress.

Reflections

Photo by Damion Mower Photography – Jasmine and her girls adding the final touches to the dress.

Wedding Dress Photography

love is light

Photo by Roney Rufino – A few minutes before the altar, she is anxious and euphoric, yet a serene, happy, and beautiful bride. Nothing else matters; love is light.

Wedding Dress Photography

Angelic

Photo by Ap-Art Photography – The light at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, combined with its staircase, can create some stunning images. This time was no exception…

Bride getting ready

Photo by My Love Momentz Photography / Ivan Lim – The Bride is ready to put on her wedding gown.

The Spinning Bride

Photo by S.R.Urwin Wedding Photography/Steve Urwin – Elle had chosen a very full wedding dress. Her wedding breakfast was held at the exclusive 5-star Westminster hotel, St Ermins. The hotel’s entrance and facade are imposing, and I wanted shots of the bride and groom in the reception courtyard. When I came to shoot Elle on her own, I asked her to do a 360-degree spin. As her dress flared out and she twirled back towards the camera, she threw her head back and laughed. Despite the darkness outside, I was pleased with how the dress was lit and the action shot I captured.

Wedding Dress Photography

A moment of reflection

Photo by Nisha Haq Photography – A peaceful moment of reflection before seeing the face of the man she loves. Georgie looks incredible in her Eddy K bridal gown, the elegant lace train catching the midday sunlight as she prepares for the wedding ceremony at Audleys Wood Hotel, Hampshire. I love how the bride takes a small moment for herself on this momentous occasion, gathering her thoughts for what will be a day filled with emotions, laughter, and love.

Simplicity At Its Best

Photo by Helen-Jane Photography – Chloe’s dress was handmade by her godmother as a wedding gift. The design was simple, but it looked absolutely stunning on her!

Wedding Dress Photography

Simplicity at its best

Photo by Sally Rawlins Photography – Jazz’s wedding dress was absolutely perfect in its simplicity and looked stunning hanging up in the bridal suite at the venue. She had opted for a mermaid-style dress by Pronovias—plain yet completely elegant—which accentuated her long, dark hair styled in an Ariana Grande fashion, worn down.
When I hung the dress next to the mirror and dressing table, the cool grey decor made it look incredible. This is one of my favourite shots from bridal prep; it’s a calming image that set the tone for the collection.

Wedding Dress Photography

The Red Door

Photo by Pure Photo N.I – Our bride and bridesmaids had stayed at the hotel the night before to prepare for the day ahead. The hotel room was a bit cramped, so we took the bride’s dress and headed to one of our favourite spots in the grounds around the hotel.

Wedding Dress Photography

Timeless

Photo by capture every moment – The bridal suite at Dumbleton Hall had a beautiful window that seemed like the perfect place to hang the wedding dress. The bride, Ellen, was more than happy to go along with our suggestion, and we love the picture just as much as she does!

Wedding Dress Photography

Flower Dress

Photo by capture every moment – This dress photo was taken at Lapstone Barn in the Cotswolds. The florist, “Tiger by the Tail,” was busy preparing all the flowers in the barn for Chris and Emma’s wedding. We saw the opportunity to hang the dress in the doorway among the flowers, so we quickly arranged the dress and made a few tweaks to the flowers before taking the shot.

The Elegant During The Chaos

Photo by ER Photography – As documentary photographers, we don’t usually pose the dress. Instead, we always give brides a heads-up before the wedding day on how to keep bridal prep looking as beautiful as possible.

Claire couldn’t have hung her dress in a prettier location. Her wedding was in a real castle, making it a true princess moment. The light from the window was particularly stunning, and amidst the chaos of bridal prep, the dress remained majestic in all its elegant glory, providing an amazing backdrop for the bridal prep photos.

Wedding Dress Photography

Whiter Shade of Pale

Photo by Eye of the Tyne Photography – Following the wedding breakfast, I took Robyn and Steven outside for some additional couple shots. Unfortunately, the sky had clouded over and was quite flat and dull. I noticed Robyn’s dress had a huge train and her veil was also very long. I positioned them on a bank next to the venue, with the flat white sky as the backdrop. I then had the bridesmaids hold up Robyn’s dress and veil on either side of the couple. I shot the image slightly overexposed so that the dress and veil almost blend into the white sky.

Wedding Dress Photography

Be my dress

Photo by Atken Photography – I took this shot at the stunning stately home of Sledmere House in East Yorkshire. Sledmere is both a Georgian and an Edwardian house, charmingly adorned with beautiful architecture and rich local history. The lighting from directly above was perfect, and I knew immediately that this image had to be in black and white.

Wedding Dress Photography

Cathedral Veil

Photo by Jason Williams Photography – To be honest, cathedral veils can be a pain. They can fill an entire room, require constant attention, and are a challenge in high winds. However, with a little patience, they can yield some lovely results, whether accidental or posed. This shot took me a while as I was struggling with the symmetry, but we got there in the end. Despite being primarily a street photographer, I do appreciate this image for its almost devotional art quality and simplicity. It’s not something I usually do, but, well, cathedral veils… you’ve got to make the most of them!

Wedding Dress Photography

Dress with Movement

Photo by Evolve Photography – This photo was taken in the packed reception room, The Stables, at Upton Barn in Devon. Jess’s friends were lifting her dress to get some air underneath, either for their own Instagram shots or maybe to cool the bride down! They didn’t notice me setting up my shot using the beautiful natural light from those huge windows. I just love the texture, the movement, and how natural it looks since Jess didn’t see me. And of course, the light is simply stunning!

Wedding Dress Photography

Aria and The Dress

Photo by Camilla J. Hards – This was from a wedding the other day. The bride wanted a photo of her little girl looking up at her dress. The light was stunning, and little Aria was the perfect model for the shot!

Wedding Dress Photography

Elegance

Photo by Liz Greenhalgh Photography – This beautiful Randy Fenoli dress is hanging in the elegant bedroom of Swynford Manor in Newmarket, Cambridgeshire. Every room features stunning copper baths, which perfectly complement this unconventional, non-white dress.
